The transitional arrangements for the non-domestic rating revaluation 2010 in England - Consultation paper

The next business rates revaluation takes effect from 1 April 2010. The purpose of the revaluation is to maintain fairness by ensuring rateable values are based upon up to date rental values. The revaluation does not raise extra revenue but some rate bills will rise and some will fall. The Government will introduce transitional arrangements to phase in large changes in individual rate bills arising from the 2010 revaluation. This consultation paper considers the shape of those transitional arrangements.

Consultation on proposed amendments to Planning Policy Statement 25: Development and Flood Risk

This consultation seeks views on proposed amendments clarifying aspects of the spatial planning policy on development and flood risk. These amendments would affect the application of the policy to essential infrastructure, including water and sewage treatment works, emergency services facilities, bulk storage facilities, wind turbines and the identification of functional floodplains.
Proposed Changes to Part L and Part F of the Building Regulations: A Consultation Paper

This consultation sets out the proposed changes to Part L (Conservation of Fuel and Power) and Part F (Means of Ventilation) of the Building Regulations that are planned to come into force in 2010.
The consultation also proposes a range of measures, including a strategy for training and dissemination, designed to further improve the levels of compliance and performance in buildings.
The consultation closes on the 17 September 2009.
