James Ward garden opens at Conquest Hospital

A new garden at Conquest Hospital, part of the East Sussex Hospital NHS Trust, has been opened at an event attended by patients, staff and relatives.
The James Ward garden has been funded by donations from patients, visitors and other fundraising events.
Much of the work to develop the garden has been completed by the gardens driving force staff Nurse Sally Tipler.
The courtyard has a ramp to enable patients and visitors to access the space, as well as strong wooden chairs.
Sally commented on the garden: "The garden has had a positive effect and is enjoyed by all. The psychological effect for the patients has been great, especially for them being able to get out into the fresh air and enjoy the garden."
