Health Protection Director Clara Swinson has notified all NHS chief executives to of the development of a new, web-based Healthcare Associated Infection (HCAI) surveillance computer system.
It will replace the existing system used to collect the mandatory HCAI surveillance data for reporting MRSA, MSSA, E. coli and C. difficile infection.
NHS chiefs have been asked to assign a team leader for their Trust, who will be responsible for guiding the implementation of the system in their organisation.
